Minecraft is a sandbox video game formerly created by Swedish game artist Markus "Notch" Persson, and later developed and printed by Mojang. The creative and building aspects of Minecraft enable players to construct constructions out of textured cubes in a 3D procedurally generated world. Other activities in the game include exploration, reference gathering, crafting, and battle. Minecraft is a three-dimensional sandbox game that does not have any specific goals for the participant to perform, allowing players a great amount of freedom in choosing how to play the gameHowever, there is an accomplishment system. Gameplay by default is first person, but players have the option to experiment with in third person setting. The core gameplay revolves around putting and breaking blocks. The game world is composed of rough 3D objects--mainly cubes--arranged in a set grid pattern and representing different materials, such as dirt, stone, various ores, water, lava, tree trunks, etc. While players can move easily around the world, objects can only be put at permanent locations on the grid. Players can collect these materials place and blocks them somewhere else, allowing for various constructions thus.In the beginning of the game, the ball player is placed on the top of the procedurally made and nearly infinite game world. The planet is split into biomes which range from deserts to jungles to snowfield. Players can walk across the terrain comprising plains, mountains, forests, caves, and various water bodies. The in-game time system follows a full night and day routine, with one full cycle long lasting 20 real-time minutes. Through the entire course of the overall game, players encounter various non-player heroes known as mobs, including family pets, villagers and hostile creatures. Non-hostile animals--such as cows, pigs, and chickens--can be hunted for food and crafting materials, and spawn in the day time. In comparison, hostile mobs--such as large spiders, skeletons, and zombies--spawn during nighttime or in dark places, such as caves. Some Minecraft-unique animals have been noted by reviewers, including the Creeper, an exploding creature that sneaks through to the participant; and the Enderman, a creature having the ability to teleport and pick up blocks.
