Minecraft is a sandbox video game originally created by Swedish game custom made Markus "Notch" Persson, and developed and publicized by Mojang later. In 2014 September, Microsoft announced a package to buy Mojang and the Minecraft intellectual property for US$2.5 billion, with the acquisition being completed two months later.

Minecraft is a three-dimensional sandbox game that does not have any specific goals for the ball player to accomplish, allowing players plenty of flexibility in choosing how to learn the gameHowever, there can be an achievements system. Gameplay by default is first person, but players have the choice to try out in third person setting. The core gameplay revolves around breaking and positioning blocks. The global world is divided into biomes ranging from deserts to jungles to snowfield. Players can walk over the terrain consisting of plains, mountains, forests, caves, and various water bodies. The in-game time system uses a day and night cycle, with one full circuit long lasting 20 real-time minutes. Through the entire course of the overall game, players face various non-player individuals known as mobs, including pets or animals, villagers and hostile creatures. Non-hostile animals--such as cows, pigs, and chickens--can be hunted for crafting and food materials, and spawn in the day time. In comparison, hostile mobs--such as large spiders, skeletons, and zombies--spawn during nighttime or in dark places, such as caves. Some Minecraft-unique creatures have been observed by reviewers, like the Creeper, an exploding creature that sneaks through to the ball player; and the Enderman, a creature having the ability to teleport and grab blocks.
