Minecraft is a three-dimensional sandbox game that does not have any specific goals for the player to perform, allowing players plenty of flexibility in choosing how to try out the gameHowever, there can be an accomplishment system. Gameplay by default is first person, but players have the choice to play in third person setting. The core gameplay revolves around placing and breaking blocks. The overall game world is composed of rough 3D objects--mainly cubes--arranged in a set grid pattern and representing different materials, such as dirt, stone, various ores, water, lava, tree trunks, etc. While players can move around the world freely, objects can only just be positioned at predetermined locations on the grid. Players can collect these material place and blocks them elsewhere, thus enabling various constructions. In the beginning of the game, the ball player is placed on the top of the procedurally generated and almost infinite game world. The entire world is divided into biomes ranging from deserts to jungles to snowfield. Players can walk over the terrain comprising plains, mountains, forests, caves, and various water bodies. The in-game time system comes after a night and day circuit, with one full circuit sustained 20 real-time minutes. Throughout the course of the game, players face various non-player characters known as mobs, including pets, villagers and hostile animals. Non-hostile animals--such as cows, pigs, and chickens--can be hunted for food and crafting materials, and spawn in the day time. By contrast, hostile mobs--such as large spiders, skeletons, and zombies--spawn during nighttime or in dark places, such as caves. Some Minecraft-unique animals have been noted by reviewers, such as the Creeper, an exploding creature that sneaks up on the player; and the Enderman, a creature with the ability to teleport and pick up blocks.
